2008 Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown Football

RB: Darius Ashley, St. Xavier: The 2008 St. Xavier graduate won two Division I state titles (2005, 2007) for the Bombers. As a sophomore, he rushed for 1,633 yards and 26 touchdowns while leading the Bombers to a 15-0 record. His first varsity game was in the Showdown against Colerain Aug. 27, 2005 at Nippert Stadium. He had 1,450 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2006. He played college football at the University of Louisville.

Steve Specht, St. Xavier: The Bombers coach has won three Division I state titles on North Bend Road including 2005, 2007 and 2016. St. X became the first five-loss team to win a state football title last fall. The 1986 St. X graduate has coached in the Showdown since 2004. St. X is 10-3 in the Showdown since 2004 and has only one loss to an Ohio team in the event in that span (Colerain in 2008). 2b1af7f3a8
