The ending of stargate: the last journey is not a good example of a product that was re-made. At least not in my opinion. All the stuff that was in that movie was in the original stargate. The only thing that you couldnt find was the special effects for the stargate to go through a wormhole. Which, come on, that's pretty obvious that they knew they were gonna need to do that at some point.

I think what you people are missing is that back in the day, the show was done by the brothers at the end of each season. Which is why we had the timeline for each season starting in the middle of one. Its not like they were trying to hide the fact that they were moving to D.C. I am guessing the first thing they did was to get their agent to do a deal with the new studio which was who, by the way, the sg1 finale was with. So that's the studio getting a product that their audience, at the time, wanted. And thats why the finale was so abrupt and ended right in the middle of an episode. Good lord. If you wanna guess where michael was from, look at the credits. It says Washington D.C. All you have to do is replace his first and last name and voila, you have michael mitchell. Mmmm, D.C.
