The percentage of utilization for brown coal generation, mechanical grate combustion and gasification is presented. Legislation and technologies are continuously improved and the focus is to continuously control the generation of emissions. Emission quantities are obtained by testing and tend to be small. As the technology developed, so has the emission standards on the emission side. The emission standards are not always met, and the emission quantities have been reduced through technological improvements. It tends to be more appropriate to provide emission quantities as standardized emissions on a mass basis and to show the percentages of reduction for the emission emissions. The standardized emissions are mainly composed of SO 2, NO x, CO and dust, all of which are emission species with respect to the technical combustion of brown coal. Their SP, NO x, SO x and CO standardized emissions are POT/TOT of 0.547 kg/t, 3.08 kg/t, -0.15 kg/t and -0.47 kg/t respectively. The spessification of the coals is in the range of 0.14 kg/t to 0.74 kg/t, where the small difference is due to the different practices, such as the furnace type, the partial blowing rate and the ambient temperature. Comparisons are made of the emission profiles of the boilers with the various emission profiles and the different allocation of the boilers to the various classification groups.
