A short bit of information about the vampire war to come, and also on the Undead. An introduction to the vampiric bloodline as well as the covens in the area and how they are related. A description of the vampire count's will to power, how it manifests and what its effects are on them and on the rest of the world.
The Usurper are the bloodline of the Vampires that Nagash's son, Mannfred, created. Mannfred is the first to have a name, and it is Usurper. He created a new bloodline, one that was not bound to him, and one that has been in competition with him for centuries. Though the Usurper has created many Vampires, they are all bound by the will of the Usurper. He is a powerful vampire, but he is not yet as powerful as Nagash. He seeks to use the Forlorn for his own power and glory.
The Usurper has many uses for silver. He drinks silver vials of blood. He uses silver weapons. He also has a silver throne. The throne is large enough to fit his body, and it can hold many vampires.
Vampiric Bloodlines are only found in Sylvania. However, they can be found in other parts of the world as well. The Forlorn are the bloodline that Nagash, the founder of the undead, created. The Forlorn are now all of the Old Ones. As a result, all of the old undead are of the Forlorn. Without hope of redemption, they long for death.
This books uses the TSR World Book of Villains character model, which is pretty unique in the Forgotten Realms setting. It's a bit more detailed than the FRD version, but there are some things missing, like stats on the various vampire families or the various vampire marks.
The map of Sylvania and the surrounding area is a piece of a larger, interactive map I made for my Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines themed Gaming Table. I will be posting more maps and information about the table in the future. Click here to view the map as a pdf or to view the map as a Google Map.
